OPAL IN SEAGLASS

We have combined the strength and renewal of sea glass with the creativity, harmony and balance of opal in today’s highlighted pendant. Flashes of beautiful blues, greens, oranges and yellows encased in ancient glass weathered by the ocean to a smooth opaque finish imperfect from its journey over the stones and shells on the shoreline.

It has been completed with a sterling silver chain to make it a lasting heirloom.

Opal is known as the stone of the Gods and sea glass is known as sea gems or mermaid tears.

As a side note, man made or synthetic opals are more rugged than natural opals (6.5 on the Mohs scale) but still need special attention. Do not expose an opal to harsh chemicals and limit water exposure.

Clean with a soft cloth or mild soap and water with a toothbrush. Even though synthetic opals are much more rugged than natural opals, it is suggested to store separately to avoid scratching.

Fine silver (999) and sterling silver (925) can be stored in a small Ziplock bag to reduce exposure to pollutants that causes tarnishing. Wearing frequently due to body oils also helps to reduce tarnishing.

TYING THE KNOT

The expression “tying the knot” can be traced back to an old Celtic practice of a couple being bound in ropes to symbolize the bond they were making as a couple, much different than our practice today of a legal or formal marriage of two people.

Our Tying the Knot pendant is symbolic with its eternal circle tied with a twisted rope of sterling silver.

Our pendant is made with Sterling Silver is 92.5.% pure plus 7.5% copper which makes it a little stronger than pure silver.

A Meditation ring, also known as a spinner or fidget ring, is a wide banded ring with one or more smaller rings that spin over the main band. Spinning the small bands can be calming and assist us with focus (or refocusing).

AMBER IN CHAINS

This beautiful raw Baltic Amber has been supported with stainless steel chains to create a pendant.

Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin with a hardness ranging from 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale.

When Amber is worn against the skin, the nugget or bead is naturally warmed by our body and a small amounts of healing oils (succinic acid) is released and absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. Succinic acid is known to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and is used as an analgesic for pain. Baltic Amber is noted as assisting with varicose vein and increasing blood circulation.
