Jo Hayes Ward Fine Jewellery London based fine jewellery designer working with gold building blocks

Constructing jewellery from small building block elements, Jo Hayes Ward creates intricate sculptural pieces with an architectural aesthetic. Her award winning designs include simple forms that on close inspection dissolve into a filigree of shimmering cubes, striking interlocking gold and diamond rings, bold three-dimensional brooches and a bespoke collection embracing the setting of unusually cu

t stones. Jo recently launched the exciting new Hex collection, which examines complex textured and patterned surfaces created with a new elemental unit. Crafting her designs in a digital environment Jo employs rapid prototyping technology alongside traditional jewellery techniques in the production of her work. An important aspect of her designs and research is to harness machine marks and exploit them as an aesthetic. This, alongside a tacit knowledge of materials and long-established jewellery skills has enabled Jo to develop her unique signature as a maker of classic, modern pieces, which come alive when worn.

Back in the studio after my LA trip - here’s a special piece just back from my casters. Quite excited about this one! It was my clever customers idea to combine the two patterns in a wide band and I just love it!

What do you think?!

Goldsmiths’ Fair selected my work, alongside five other jewellers, to show at Collect 2026. This year the show explored structure, texture and light.

Which is a good thing really, as my Collect Edit is dazzlingly light catching, with mesmerising textures and supersized spheres. Created primarily in aluminium with touches of gold, this body of work is bigger and bolder than ever.

I’ll have some of this new work plus some exclusive new editions at my LA pop up showroom on 7 April ✨⚡️✨

The great thing about celebrating 20 years as a jeweller is that your friends from college are in the same boat as you.

This Easter I’m heading to LA to see my old pal , our kids can hang out, I can finally see her new (ish) place, and we’re doing a show together. Polly & I haven’t done a joint show since we graduated and I’m so excited for this. If you happen to be in the LA area on 7th April get in touch for details ✨

Clementine commissioned this stunning ring to mark a big birthday. She explains ‘As a big Jo fan, a big fan of my birthday, and as someone who is enjoying getting older, it seemed the right moment to work on something very special.’

and I met while we were both studying at the Royal College, and have been close friends ever since, even after she relocated her jewellery business to California.

We thought it’d be fun to do a show together. It’d be rude not to, right? If you’re based in LA in early April, come see us!
