Two years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes while accompanying the mother of my children through her own diagnosis. Same year, both sides of the system. The lesson was simple: healthcare always asks the patient to travel. In a clinical trial, that means visits every two weeks, for two years, often hours away.
Vitruvian Shield SA exists to reverse that. Three words.
Bring closer. The trial moves to the patient. Consent signed at home, questionnaires from the living room, video consultation with the investigator, vital signs streaming continuously. One platform, one record, one clinical environment.
Include. Research today studies the people who can show up. The elderly, the rural, the exhausted are not refused. They are absent. We build evidence on a population that is not the real one.
Retain. Every dropout is unusable data, an arm to run again, months and millions lost for the sponsor. Sponsors pay a licence per study plus a fee per patient per month of follow-up, so the longer a patient stays, the cleaner the study and the better we do. Our incentives and the patient's point the same way.
I presented this on stage as one of five finalists at the first Global Leverage Award, created by Corporate Connections and hosted by , on 25 August at the ROLEX Learning Center in Lausanne. The full four-minute pitch is in the video below.
Now the ask. We are opening our next sites and sponsor conversations. If you run, advise or know a hospital, a clinic, a CRO or a healthcare group evaluating decentralised trials or remote monitoring, message me directly.
Event facts used, from the organiser's site: the first edition of the Global Leverage Award, created by CorporateConnections and hosted by EPFL, with the award ceremony on 25 August 2026 at the Rolex Learning Center, EPFL, where five finalist startups pitch on stage. The award itself is a Backbone Seat: one year of membership in the CorporateConnections global business network, access valued at CHF 15K, opening onto more than 2,100 executives and business owners across 33 countries. The theme is Human Centric Innovation, and Le Temps and Helvetia are listed as partners.
