Hello, a new year and I am thinking about making some changes to how I run my business. One of these is my reliance on social media. I am quite uncomfortable with the new turn FB has taken and will be closing my account.

I'll still be on Instagram, I know that they are connected but just for now this is where I will be. If you want to receive news to your inbox, you can sign up to my newsletters which are a few times a year.

Thank you for your support here over the years, it means the world and I hope to stay in touch with you via my newsletters if that suits you.

Best wishes for 2025.

Gold and green and silver are a lovely combo. Bit festive but also very spring like. The first Daffs are showing down here and lots of signs of growth, it’s a little odd but I guess it’s a sign of the times we live in.

This amazing stone looks like use crystals, bright blue shards shoot through the quartz.

It’s going to be a cold and frosty night tonight, I’ve set my alarm early so I can see it all sparkly tomorrow. The water droplets on the grass are already frozen like glass.

I love the quiet between Christmas and new year. We had a little trip to Bodmin Moor to walk Rough Tor and spent time with friends.

It’s been so foggy, all over most of the UK I think? It made for very atmospheric walk and some very beautiful photos of rocky outcrops which will be turning into work somehow this year.

I hope you enjoy the photos. Happy new year to you for tomorrow.

Thank you. For reading my words, for supporting me through the year, for buying my work, for lovely comments, for coming to say hello at shows, for coming along to my exhibitions, for telling your friends about my work and bringing in the light to my job. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Merry Christmas, I hope you have the company you want and the food that you love, and maybe a furry friend or 2 to share it with.

Lucy xx

If you missed my last posting day, you can still find my work in a selection of galleries across the UK. There’s a full list on my website and most are open today and tomorrow.

I’m starting to think about cooking now, the days are quieter and I’m starting to relax. It’s such a strange switch from frantically busy to standstill at this time of year but I’m grateful for the peace and time to focus on the garden, the veg beds, long walks and good food.

The shortest day! Today was the perfect blustery day to tinker in my workshop, making this orange peel wreath as a nod to mid-winter and the upcoming festivities.

My last parcel is ready to go, I have some gold pieces on my bench for a local customer and everything seems to be slowing down. I’m looking forward to a cosy evening, a fire and a glass of something tasty to celebrate the light coming back.

A bangle is a great gift, you don’t need to worry too much about sizing and there are so many designs to choose from.

These bangles were forged out in the wilds of Cornwall against granite formed about 280 million years ago and smoothed into boulders by the sea in more recent times. They are the perfect gift for lovers of wild places and those of you who carry pebbles in your pocket like a talisman.

Last orders are the 19th December in time for Christmas.

Tis the season for glorious bonfires in the gloaming.

Wonderful dancing sparks arching into the zooming blue.

Toasty hands but freezing buttocks!

And the smell of woodsmoke clinging to my hair, my clothes.

I love this time of year because I get to experience the most beautiful part of each day, twice! The time when the light fades in and out, the dusk light called Dimpse or Dimpsy, that gradual fading with all the richness is gives to the land.

This brooch honors that light, that time and the heritage of our rich evolving language.

It was made in collaboration with alongside a series of pieces celebrating words and dialect. You can see these all in my website under my current collections.

Perfect little studs that will bring joy to you, me and whoever receives them! Black and gold is such a glorious combination and these oxidised recycled silver 18ct Fairtrade gold studs are a good option for those seeking more thoughtful gifts that are more ethical too.
