Lonwabo Nomna's story is a shining example of how our circle works.
Our partnership with the Amy Foundation South Africa is how we make it possible. We are so proud to have Lonwabo in our team, and he's growing every day. ๐ค
This week, weโre shining our YSD Spotlight Sunday on Lonwabo Nomna, a young man whose journey reflects what happens when growth meets purpose, guidance meets action and gratitude shapes the path forward.
Growth doesnโt always come easyโฆ
sometimes, it starts in uncertainty.
sometimes, it starts with taking a chance on yourself.
Lonwabo joined the Amy Foundation after being referred by a friend, at a time when he was searching for direction, both personally and professionally. What he found was more than just an opportunity it was a turning point.
He enrolled in the YSD Sewing Programme, aligning perfectly with his clothing brand, Antlerz Apparel, which he started back in 2020. With a vision to create his own garments, Lonwabo used the programme to turn passion into skill and skill into independence.
Before joining, he was hustling running his printing and clothing business while searching for stable work. Today, he walks with something no one can take away from him, a skill, a mindset and a purpose.
Through the programme, he learned more than just sewing.
He learned patience.
He learned how to work with people.
He learned how to carry himself in the workplace.
And most importantly, he learned to trust the process.
Now working as a Stock Controller at Relate Bracelets, Lonwabo carries responsibility with pride, trusted in a high-level role that reflects just how far heโs come.
But his journey doesnโt stop here.
Looking ahead, he hopes to grow his clothing business, acquire the equipment he needs and one day pass down his knowledge and skills to his younger brothers building something that lasts beyond him.
His advice?
โThe greatest things in life take time. Stay committed, stay focused and be ready when opportunity comes.โ
Because sometimes, growth is about becoming.
Guidance is about learning.
And gratitude is about appreciating every step that gets you there.
This is Lonwaboโs story.
A story of resilience, purpose and the power of showing up. ๐
