It started in 1984 with Raymond Brent working from his kitchen table, the same table his family had breakfast, lunch and dinner on making jewelry and later branching into fire place accessories, lighting fixtures, bat
hroom accessories and custom made items. As he continued to grow his once very small business Ray also realized that “vintage never gets old” and started looking into restoration of antiques, brass, and copper items to bring them back from the morbid looking state and return them to their former glory, reminding us of simpler times before the ever changing fast paced world we have grown to know today. True craftsmanship is hard to come by and a dying trade and Raymond set out to teach not only himself but his small team of staff and his son Dean, the art and passion of fabricating stunning handcrafted custom brass and copper ware. Brassique had became a true little gem in the heart of the Helderberg community, a place where people would come and take a piece of history home with them from the extensive range of antique items that Raymond seemed to have a natural gift for finding and collecting, or have a custom designed item, made to imprint their own bit of history to. Knowing the values and craftsmanship passed down to him, Dean has since continued to keep his Fathers legacy and standards alive and has continued to serve, help and touch people everyday with the quality craftsmanship and understanding that Raymond had. Brassique has remained the small family business that Raymond started, continuing with the same passion and high quality craftsmanship - staying true to the legend!
