Each Meraki jewellery piece is hand crafted by Cape Town-based designer, Megan Keyser. She completed her degree in Jewellery Design and Manufacture at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2012. Using raw stones, Sterling Silver and recycled Brass, she creates delicate, timeless pieces that draw inspiration from geometric forms in nature, her travels and an appreciation for well made obje

Read Bella’s story. ❤️
A week ago, Sarah’s world changed forever.
Bella, her beloved companion of 15 years, was tragically taken from her family when a neighbour’s dog broke into their property and attacked her. The loss came as a complete shock.and even now, Bella’s two canine siblings quietly search for her around the house.
When Sarah shared her story with us, she wrote:
“I had to take a little moment to breathe because I was so touched by your message. It has been so tough for us.”
As we read her words, we could feel the depth of the love and heartbreak behind them.
But Bella’s story didn’t begin with loss.
Fifteen years ago, Sarah rescued Bella from a slaughterhouse in Russia, where she had been bred for meat. From that moment on, Bella’s life became a story of love, adventure, and second chances. Together they lived in three countries, built a lifetime of memories, and touched countless lives along the way.
Sarah told us that Bella was one of those rare souls who everyone loved. Even people who didn’t like dogs, loved Bella.
When Sarah entrusted us with Bella’s paw print, we knew this piece would mean more than we could ever put into words. After seeing the photos she shared, we wanted to honour Bella in another way too, so alongside her memorial necklace, we created an additional pendant featuring a hand-drawn illustration of Bella herself.
Not because it was part of the order.
But because some stories stay with you.
This is why we do what we do.
Because jewellery is so much more than jewellery.
It’s a way to keep a piece of someone close when they’re no longer here.
It’s a reminder of a life that mattered.
A love that doesn’t end.
A story that deserves to be carried forever.
Sarah, thank you for trusting us with Bella’s memory and for allowing us to share her beautiful story.
Bella’s journey may have started in a place of unimaginable hardship, but because of you, it ended surrounded by love.
