When I design, I don't just see metal and stones. I see the vibrant Ndebele patterns that wrap around homes like a warm embrace. I see the intricate Xhosa beadwork, each colour a word in a silent language passed down through generations. I see the resilience of a woman selling her goods on a busy street corner, her smile more radiant than any gemstone.

People ask me, "How is your work different?" I tell them it's because my hands are guided by the past and my heart beats for the future. I'm not recreating tradition; I'm reimagining it. I'm taking the wisdom of our ancestors, their symbols of strength and unity, and translating them into a modern context. It's about bridging the gap between what was and what can be.

This isn't just jewellery. It's a statement. It's a piece of our history you can wear. It's a whisper of our culture you can feel against your skin. And it's a bold declaration to the world that African art is not a relic of the past; it's a living, breathing, and thriving force of nature. It's a legacy of beauty, and it's mine to share."

I believe that true creation isn't just about making something beautiful; it's about making something meaningful. Growing up, I saw my mother and aunts adorning themselves with jewellery that told a story. It wasn't just gold or silver; it was a connection to our heritage and our community. I wanted to be a part of that story. I wanted to create pieces that not only spark joy but also resonate with a deeper purpose.

At the University of Pretoria, I didn't just learn about business; I learned about people. I learned about their dreams, their fears, and their aspirations. This knowledge, combined with my passion for jewellery, became my guiding principle. I've always believed that business and art are two sides of the same coin. Both require creativity, discipline, and a deep understanding of the human condition.

My journey hasn't been without its challenges. There were times when I doubted my abilities, times when I thought of giving up. But I always remembered my mother's words: 'Your hands can create magic, Nathi. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.' That's what kept me going.
Today, when I look at a piece of jewellery I've created, I don't just see a product. I see a story, a memory, a legacy. I see the joy in a customer's eyes when they wear a piece that speaks to their soul. That's the real magic. That's what makes every struggle, every late night, every challenge worth it."

The inclusion of new attractions like the MamaMagic Baby Expo and Ocean Wanders, alongside returning favorites, suggested a vibrant and engaging experience for attendees of all ages and interests. The feedback on social media during the event indicated that many visitors were indeed having a great time, enjoying the diverse activities and entertainment on offer.
