The Qonce (King William's Town) SAPS K9 Unit successfully intercepted a major drug operation, seizing Mandrax and crystal m**h (tik) with a total street value of R759 300. The intelligence-driven raid took place across two local properties and resulted in the arrest of two suspects.Types of Drugs and Breakdown of the SeizureMandrax (Buttons): Police confiscated 13 028 Mandrax tablets from a storage room at Cyprus Court on Market Street, Qonce.Crystal M**h (Tik): Large bags of crystal m**h were found alongside the Mandrax at the first property. A follow-up search at a second address on Chute Crescent, Qonce, uncovered an additional R24 600 worth of tik.Combined Drug Value: The narcotics seized at the first location totaled R734 700, which combined with the second haul to bring the total value to R759 300.Additional Confiscations and Stolen VehicleTampered Logistics Vehicle: During the raid, officers found Volkswagen Polo keys that led them to a vehicle parked outside. The vehicle was traced back to a logistics company and verified by the Vehicle Identification Section (VIS) to have been tampered with. It has been officially impounded.Proceeds of Crime: An undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be profits from illicit drug sales, was also seized at the scene.Suspect Details and Legal ActionThe Suspects: A foreign national male and a South African female were arrested and detained by authorities.Criminal Charges: The South African Police Service (SAPS) has opened two formal dockets for dealing in drugs.Court Appearance: Both individuals are scheduled to make their first appearance regarding the drug haul before the Qonce Magistrate's Court.
