Kinkel Jewellery Handcrafted designer and custom jewellery, inspired by the sea, made in Cape Town. Each piece is uniquely designed and handmade by me.

Kinkel Jewellery is the culmination of creative and whimsical jewels, inspired by nature and patterns found in my surroundings. Many of my jewels are inspired by South Africa’s rich Fauna and Flora. My aim is to make beautiful and elegant jewellery with handmade precision; pieces of art for everybody to wear and enjoy.

It’s always so special creating wedding pieces for a bride, but making this one brought extra joy to my heart. A custom pair of pearl earrings made for a very kind client who completely lit up when I showed them to her. I was so lucky to have also made her engagement ring, and then both of their wedding rings too 💍.

She got married last month, and I can only imagine how beautifully it all came together with her dress. I can't wait to see photos ✨

I find the most joy in creating uniquely shaped rings. The wonky and curvy ones that remind you that imperfect can be perfect. Each ring is crafted by hand, with its own little wobbles and curves, making no two the same.

I love making pieces that feel personal and organic. Rings that suit their owner perfectly, not because they are flawless, but because they carry the marks of being made by a real person, with care, time and intention. When rings are made by hand, every detail is double-checked, which means they are created with exceptional quality and durability.

Own a piece of Kinkel history 🐚

This was the collection that started it all, my very first brain child.

Back when I used to scuba dive, I would find the most incredible whole sea urchins underwater. Growing up in Simon’s Town, it was rare to see them washed up on the shore intact, so finding one felt like discovering a hidden treasure. I fell in love with their intricate, knobbly patterns and how delicate yet perfectly formed they were. I knew I had to turn them into jewellery.

We use resin to strengthen the sea urchins and then set them in sterling silver to protect them from any damage. This way, you can carry a little piece of the ocean with you every day.

I’m sad to say goodbye to this collection and the chapter it represents, but it is time to make space for something new. So to give these very special pieces a proper send off you can shop them at a special farewell price before they’re gone for good.

We’ll be taking these pieces off our website next week, so this is your final chance to own a piece of Kinkel history.
