May 24, 1962. Astronaut Scott Carpenter embarks on the Mercury-Atlas 7 mission. On his wrist: a custom-made Breitling Navitimer with a 24-hour dial, later known as the Cosmonaute, the first Swiss wristwatch in space.

This historic mission went on to inspire a series of Cosmonaute models in the decades that followed.
