The Known & The Unknown ✨

Three lines of sterling silver. Two lines of copper. One journey called life.

I handcrafted this ring to symbolise life's highs and lows.

The raised, polished silver represents our brightest moments, while the recessed copper, slowly changing colour and developing a darker patina, reflects life's unexpected challenges, uncertainties and lonely moments.

But notice how every low is followed by another high. ✨

Without the valleys, would we truly appreciate the mountaintops?

And that is why this ring begins and ends with shining silver.

Life may be a bumpy journey, but never allow the darker moments to overshadow the beauty of what lies ahead.

An Interweaving of Past, Present & Future… 💍✨

What an honour it was to receive such a heartfelt message from my client, entrusting me with her grandmother’s precious diamonds to create something deeply meaningful.

As she and her husband embark on a beautiful new chapter together, these treasured diamonds now sit on either side of her engagement ring, symbolising the past, present and future.

The delicate, double-sided interweaving design tells a story of love, connection and continuity — honouring the generations who came before, celebrating the love shared today, and embracing all the beautiful moments still to come.

Chapter Two of Lorette Vosloo 60'th birthday celebration gifts in Hong Kong: Our Teenage Years… and all the storms that came with them. ✨

The second piece I created for my sister’s 60th birthday celebrates our teenage years — a time of stormy emotions, growing independence, tertiary education, first loves… and our first heartbreaking experiences of love lost. 💔

And then there was our first car accident together.
Oh my goodness… what a day that was! 😂

For this piece, I chose concentric circles, each one growing larger — just like our circle of life.

With every passing year, our experiences grew.
Our friendships expanded.
Our foundations became stronger.
Our world became bigger.

And woven through it all are the links that hold family ties together — the people, memories and shared experiences that connect us, no matter how much life changes around us.

At the centre sits the diamond — a little like us. Growing stronger and brighter.

Because as life unfolded, our experiences didn't diminish our sparkle. They refined us.

Like a diamond becoming brighter, clearer and more beautiful with time, we too continued to grow, evolve and shine.

Another chapter of our lives.
Another piece of our story.
Another memory made wearable. 🤍
