Looking Back at Where It All Began…

Sometimes you find a little piece of history that makes you stop and think about just how far a business has come.

While looking through our old newspaper archives, we came across this wonderful article from the early days of Longton Jewellers.

Before opening the shop, Eric McDowall and Peter Mooney had both spent years working at Wedgwood, here in the heart of the Potteries. They had developed their skills, built their experience and, ultimately, had a passion for jewellery that they wanted to turn into something of their own.

So they took that leap and opened Longton Jewellers.

The article gives us a glimpse into those early days, describing the pair’s expertise in jewellery repair and manufacture, their commitment to doing the work on the premises, and the beginnings of a business built around craftsmanship, service and pride in their work.

Looking at the photographs and words from that time alongside the shop we have today makes the story feel particularly special.

From two local craftsmen with an idea and a passion, to a jeweller that has remained part of Longton for generations.

Established 1979. Still here. Still local. Still proud.

🏦 The Bank Update

It’s been a little while since we last shared an update on The Bank, but we’ve still been busy working behind the scenes on the renovation.

Our new upstairs Wild Edge Arts office has now had a fresh coat of paint, featuring some of our brand colours! 🎨

Next up, we’ll be getting the heating and broadband installed over the next couple of weeks, bringing us another step closer to getting the space up and running.
