We dare say these new Cartier Tank A Guichets are on the same level as the Cartier Crash.

Originally born in 1928, long ahead of the mechanical watch with a digital display trend, the Cartier Tank a Guichet foregoes a traditional dial and hands in favor of two small apertures that digitally spell out the time. Its design originated from the changing landscape of the late 1920s when trains and cars sped up the reality of travel. The “digital” time telling meant a quicker means to read time in a world that was beginning to move faster.

The Cubitus will become the next Nautilus

Patek Philippe received a ton criticism over the release of the Cubitus. While the original release 2 years ago was a much larger case size, the most recent iteration is a 40 which is much more comfortable and universal. Many people still refuse to accept this as a modern Patek sports watch but it continues to trade over MSRP which should tell you something. Give this piece a few more years to mature in the minds of collectors and this will become the next Nautilus.

The 5167R might be the best of the 5167 line. Rose gold, chocolate dial, and a chocolate strap. It is just a whole other level of prestige over the steel version and steals the attention of anyone who catches a glimpse.

Not all 5711s are created equal

The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 with the highly coveted “Tiffany & Co” stamp is the pinnacle of rarity and exclusivity. While the detail is subtle and goes almost unnoticed, the price difference is definitely not subtle. Rarely do these pieces show up and each time, they fetch crazy premiums at auction. While green and blue dial variants are worth the most, respectively, the piano white dial is actually the hardest one to find and was produced in the smallest quantity.

Finishing over flash

Grand Seiko is under appreciated when it comes to their dial designs and metal finishings. While not Swiss made, the Japanese know how to knock it out of the park with their watches. Many dial variations feature seasons, flowers, or concentric lines. Add to that a precision engineered movement and you have an under appreciated brand full of value!
