If you haven’t noticed this year, I’ve been trying to be really intentional with my time. That means being selective about the events I book, saying yes to more private parties, and making time for the people and moments that bring me joy.
This weekend we headed to Amarillo to celebrate my niece graduating from my alma mater WT, and somehow I also ended up planning her graduation party because apparently I can’t just attend an event—I have to add event planner to my résumé too. 😂 Her and her brother also reminded me after a night out that I am very much in my 30s and not my 20s anymore, and their brother and his wife are about to welcome a baby boy… so safe to say I’ll be making plenty more Amarillo trips soon. 💙
And we’re not done yet—over the next two weeks I’ll be celebrating another niece graduating high school in Anna, my nephew graduating from Decatur (plus half his class I basically claim as my own), another nephew graduating in Era, my cousins’ kids, and so many of my own students.
Needless to say, your girl is tired and crawling toward summer break 😂 but this business gives me the flexibility to show up for the people I love, and that means everything to me.
These people are my why ❤️
Now please come see me at my LAST public event of May at Marker Cellars Teacher Appreciation Event on May 21 from 4–8 PM so I can financially recover from graduation gifts, party decor, Amarillo gas, and poor nightlife decisions. 🫣🎓💸
