A Green Tourmaline Dream 💚😴⁠

Pink tourmaline is one of the birthstones for October, but that isn't going to stop us from appreciating all the colors of this beautiful gemstone.⁠

Our designer May is showing off this necklace with super bright and sparkly green and blue green tourmalines. Our goldsmith Cameron handcrafted a triangular toggle clasp that is easy to use and mirrors the cross section of the beads.⁠

The “Shattered Pattern” pendant is the third piece in Patrick’s ongoing niobium series. The pattern is hand engraved, then colored magenta using niobium’s color-changing properties to echo the pink tourmaline. Against the dark blue background, it creates the effect of the stone “shattering” the pendant.⁠

Tool Time with Patrick 🪚 ⁠

Jeweler's saws use very thin blades under tension to slice through precious metal. On average they are about 1/5 the width of a human hair. That’s what lets our goldsmiths turn tight corners and make precise cuts through precious metal. The flip side of that thinness is that they can break very easily. You can also thread the blade through tight spots like Patrick is doing here to remove the feeder sprues from a raw casting.⁠

Our goldsmith Patrick is particularly fond of Green Lion Studios hand saws. Not only are they ergonomic, they're nice to look at too.⁠

One of our most whimsical creations yet! When Sandy came to us with a watercolor by one of her favorite artists, we were ready to make waves.⁠

Tiffany transformed the artwork into a one-of-a-kind pendant design, and Phil worked his magic with Sandy’s own gold. Using a diamond-tipped tool he fabricated himself (because ordinary tools just won't do 😉), he created an extraordinary texture that mimics the shimmer of scales beneath the sea.⁠

Add a splash of gorgeous gemstones, and voilà! A wearable work of art that's equal parts whimsical and luxurious 💎⁠

This isn’t Roxanne’s first visit, and we love when clients return with new ideas. She brought several pieces she never wore. We removed the gemstones, refined the metal, and started fresh.⁠

Bon took Tiffany's sketches and brought them to life with his trademark precision. The result is a pair of asymmetrical earrings each featuring diamond baguettes and trillion cut tanzanites, same gems, same gold, brand new story.⁠
